Authorities torch 6.8 tons of drugs seized in just a few months
SANTO DOMINGO. - The Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) on Tuesday incinerated 6.8 tons of cocaine, marijuana, heroin and crack seized in the last few months from narcotics traffickers that use Dominican Republic as a bridge to ship narcotics abroad.
In addition to the 5,195 kilos of pure cocaine, 807 kilos and 213 plants of marijuana, 52 kilos of heroin, 15 kilos of crack, 153,767 Benzodiazepine pills and 10,725 tablets of ecstasy, other drugs seized from different people were also incinerated.
As usual the incineration -headed by DNCD president Rolando Rosado- was conducted in an isolated zone of the facilities of the Army First Infantry Brigade, near the town Pedro Brand, 25 kilometers north of the capital on the Duarte Highway.
